Your Playlist:

7AM – 9AM: CLASSICAL

Antonio Vivaldi Station

Why: Classical is incredibly stimulating music and Vivaldi is mostly uplifting. I would stay away from the Beethoven and Chopin first thing in the morning (they can be a little dark).
Volume: LOW
Activity: Eat Breakfast, snuggle, read books.
Discussions: What type of music is this? What instruments do you hear? Is this music happy or sad? Fast or slow?

9AM – 11AM: BLUEGRASS

Old and In the Way Station

Why: The fast paced action of bluegrass will get your day rolling. This is a specifically amazing group of gentlemen crooning with beautiful harmonies and picking and plucking faster than you would think possible.
Volume: MEDIUM
Activity: Get dressed, wash up. Put on hats (preferably cowboy hats) and dance, dance, dance.
Discussions: What type of music is this? What instruments do you hear that you also heard in Classical music (violin/fiddle)?
Is this music fast or slow? Happy or sad? Who do you think is playing this? What do they look like?

11AM – 1PM: POP ROCK (circa 2011/12)

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros Station

(WATCH FOR POTENTIAL FOUL LANGUAGE) Not sure what Pandora will play for you!!

Why: This is music that my wife introduced me to. It is great rock, the best thing is that it is NEW! It’s earthy music, with a 70’s undertone while embracing some electronic technology.
Volume: LOUD
Activity: Eat Lunch. Grab a drum, a tambourine, a shaker and play along, dance!!!
Discussions: What instruments do you hear? What type of music is this? Which music is your favorite so far?

1PM – 3PM: REGGAE:

Toots and the Maytals Station

Why: This music is very amazing and very unknown. Toots and the Maytals are a precursor to the ‘Could You Be Loved’ Bob Marley we know and love.
They have produced over 50 records and are still touring. Their first record came out in 1964. The music you will be hearing is circa 1960/70’s.
Volume: MEDIUM
Activity: Relax. Put your feet up. Read a magazine, look at a catalogue with the tykes!
Discussions: What instruments do you hear? What type of music is this? What language are they speaking? Have you ever heard this music before? Do you like it?

3PM – 5PM: LATIN MUSIC:

Buena Vista Social Club Station

Why: This music has a feeling like none other. The percussion, horns and vocals will move your body for you.
Amazing and complex rhythms, melodies and arrangements. This group is worth researching – watch the documentary by Wim Wenders and Ry Cooder.

Volume: LOUD
Activity: Cook, this is great dinner making music. And shake it!!!

Have you ever heard this music before?
