It started with our kids
While raising his own children in music, a musician from a musical family saw a gap: kids' classes that actually rocked. Michael and Heather built Rockness so their kids — and every kid after them — could grow up inside a real music program, not just watch from the sidelines. Their children grew up in the band, and today they're teenagers still invested in the music-making and artistic vision.
Rockness Music is born
Free creative expression, infectious energy, and a love of all things musical gave birth to something new, exciting, and different. Early childhood music education and entertainment became the mission — a woman-owned family business led by Heather & Michael Napolitano.
The band hits the road
Our nationally touring rock-n-roll band, Michael & the Rockness Monsters, has played Lollapalooza, Levitt Pavilion, Wolf Trap, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Sirius/XM Kids Place Live, and recorded for Audible.
Today: one of the Northeast's most-loved kids' music programs
Classes, birthday parties, preschool shows, school assemblies, and big-kid workshops like group ukulele and hand drumming — consistently evolving to meet the needs of growing students.
