While participating in music programs with his children an inspired father decided to create a music program based off of the true rock roots of his musical experience as well as his youth growing up in a musical family. A musician himself, his mission became finding new ways to offer children a refreshing musical experience filled with education and fun.
Free creative expression coupled with infectious energy and a love of all things musical gave birth to some something new, exciting, and different – ROCKNESS MUSIC!
Rockness Music’s music and classes continue to support the growth of the young child. The program consistently evolves to meet the ever-changing needs of our growing little students!

The original rock music class for kids, Rockness Music is celebrating our 10th anniversary!
In doing so we have a new name that reaches all ages ROCKNESS MUSIC! We are still experts in the field of early childhood education and we are still offering our award winning preschool rock music classes.
What have we changed? We are growing with our graduates. With our new offerings (see older children under schools) we are continuing to educate and inspire our preschoolers as they grow. We are thrilled to be able to aid in their musical education from preschool to high school!
New to Rockness Music? Well here is how it got started ten years ago:
While participating in music programs with his children an inspired father decided to create a music program based off of the true rock roots of his musical experience as a youth growing up in a musical family. Essentially our founder was the first preschool rocker. A musician himself, his mission became finding new ways to offer children a refreshing musical experience filled with education and fun.
Naturally early childhood education became his primary focus. Free creative expression coupled with infectious energy and a love of all things musical gave birth to some something new, exciting, and different – Rockness Music Preschool!
Rockness Music’s music and classes continue to support the growth of the young child. The program consistently evolves to meet the ever-changing needs of our growing students.
Rockness Music BIG KIDS! We offer group, individual and ‘in-school’ lessons for children K-5th grade. We also offer private lessons to all ages. We also offer group workshops including group Ukulele and Hand Drumming lessons for schools, summer camps and community organizations. A wonderful way for older children to gain confidence, bond with fellow students and grow as budding musicians.
Michael Napolitano is the founder, and director of Rockness Music. He performs, composes, produces, and engineers all of the music for Rockness Music and Michael & the Rockness Monsters. As a child, Michael quickly found himself immersed in music, attending rehearsals and gigs with his father (a professional drummer). Michael and his two brothers are exceptional drummers and were perhaps the first Rockness Music Preschool students ever!
Michael’s childhood experiences with preschool music have aided in his pursuit of reaching children with the power of music and drama at their own level.
MICHAEL AND BLUE MAN GROUP: After 10 years in the Blue Man Group organization, Michael was hired by Chris Wink (Co-Creator – Blue Man Group) to pioneer a music program at The Blue School in NYC. Michael’s experiences with the Blue Man organization, traveling the world, and collaborating with world renowned artists and educators, has had a major impact on Rockness Music’s props, instruments and recordings.
